Special features regarding teachingChemistry at the TU Braunschweig offers a contemporary degree course in all relevant fields of chemistry. The focus is on excellent experimental training in the practicals and on in-depth theoretical knowledge. The dedicated teaching staff have consistently developed the curriculum over the past few years and innovative teaching projects (e.g. consistent expansion of learning through research in the practicals or the use of 3D printing and virtual reality in teaching) have become firmly established.
-
Special features regarding the international orientationStudents receive the best possible support in the preparation of stays abroad, for example, through the Erasmus programme in France, the UK or Sweden, enabling flexible recognition of study achievements abroad. Through an exchange programme with the University of Utah, five students, most of them scholarship-financed, are traditionally able to study in the United States each year following a selection process.
-
Support for foundersTU Braunschweig supports students with business start-ups. Chemistry students can attend interdisciplinary courses to prepare for starting a business in the professionalisation part of their programme.
-
Characteristics of assistance to differently abled personsChemistry at TU Braunschweig takes into account the needs of students with permanent health impairments. Possibilities for reasonable adjustments are specified in the examination regulations and include extension of the time allowed for written examinations, splitting examinations, equivalent performance for certain types of practical work, and admission of necessary assistive devices/technology, adapted examination documents or personal assistance.
-
Characteristics of diversity advancementAt TU Braunschweig gender, diversity and equal opportunity are topics that cut across all disciplines. They are integrated in the teaching content. At the same time, attention is paid to equality in teaching, and course offerings reflect student diversity. Chemistry at TU Braunschweig creates a learning and working environment that is free of prejudice and values all students and teachers in their diversity.
