Special features regarding teachingWhat sets the Department of Chemistry apart in terms of teaching is the individual supervision offered to students in all phases of the course, the early introduction of students to current research as early as the Bachelor's stage, and the many different opportunities for studying abroad as part of the Chemistry degree course thanks to cooperation agreements with universities within and outside Europe. The Master's degree course in particular focuses on practice-based research, which also permits work placements in related engineering sciences or industry.
Special features regarding the international orientationMore than a third of students at Technische Universität Clausthal come from abroad and the Chemistry department is also highly international in nature. Numerous cooperation agreements with foreign universities give students the opportunity to complete work placements, project work or other courses abroad. As preparation, lectures and seminars are already offered in English in the Bachelor's degree course. Bachelor's theses, Master's theses, project work and specialisation practicals can be worked on as part of international research projects.
Characteristics of diversity advancementThanks to the highly international nature of TU Clausthal, many lecturers (from assistants to Chair holders) come from abroad, which has a very positive impact on the promotion of our foreign students. This is part of the support programme offered to our students. As a basic principle it is possible to offer every form of teaching in English (lecturers) or to request that this be done (students).
