Special features regarding teachingOne-year orientation phase with identical content and option to switch to the Bachelor's degree courses in Biochemistry, Chemistry and Polymer and Colloid Chemistry; Research-oriented specialisation in macromolecular and colloid research, new materials and catalysis and Molecular Biosciences; Close integration of lectures and practicals; Optional industrial work placements and work placements abroad; Strong practical orientation through industry contacts. In addition to state examinations, the teaching qualification in the model course leads to B.Sc. and M.Ed. degrees with special focus on practical training.
Special features regarding the international orientationInternational partner universities: Contacts to leading universities through highly acclaimed and well-networked university teachers (e.g. Cornell University, ETH Zurich, University of York, University of Stockholm, Imperial College London, University of Oxford, University of Paris, University of Strasbourg, Chinese Academy of Science Beijing, Zhejiang University of Hangzhou). Characteristics of assistance to differently abled personsThrough the addition of the counselling office for students with disabilities and chronic health problems (becks), the counselling and support services for students have been expanded comprehensively since 2015. It offers support with study problems and challenges, information on legal claims, reasonable adjustments and funding opportunities. becks is also committed to providing accessibility not only to buildings and premises but also of teaching content, raising awareness among teaching and administrative staff, reasonable adjustments, assistive devices/technology and personal assistance
