Special features regarding teachingThe Bachelor's degree course in Chemistry combines basic theory with modern practice and prepares students for the research-oriented and English-language Master's programme in Chemistry. A major strength of the department is the very good supervision of students due to the comparatively small ratio of students to professors in chemistry. In addition to the usual student counselling, lecturers of confidence are available for students who mediate confidentially in conflict situations.

The research groups in the department regularly host international guest researchers and collaborate in international research projects.
