Special features regarding teachingExtensive elective options already in the Bachelor's degree course; continuous integration of e-learning offers in teaching; comprehensive advisory services through strong networking of the departmental student advisory service with numerous other advisory offices; very good cooperation between students and lecturers, e.g. in committee work; very committed and competent student council; individual course planning and monitoring possible with the departmental advisor. Since 2016, own professorship for the subject area Economic Chemistry for highly specific courses in the degree course.

Special features regarding the international orientationEnglish-language Master's degree course in Chemistry; some elective modules are also offered in English in the Bachelor's degree course; all theses (also Bachelor's) can be written in English, as can documentation on research-oriented internships in the working groups; various cooperations with foreign universities within the framework of student mobility (e.g. Erasmus+); promotion of stays abroad and competent specialist advice regarding recognition.

Special features regarding the equipmentState-of-the-art equipment and new open-plan laboratories, regular high investments in up-to-date technical and experimental equipment; partly modularised practical training rooms, which allow the sequential or parallel implementation of different practical training courses.

Other special featuresThe degree courses of the Department of Chemistry have been successfully accredited by the Internal Accreditation Procedure of the University of Ulm within the framework of the system accreditation until 2027.
