Support for foundersAn experienced patents department accompanies patenting of LMU inventions. The LMU Spin-off Service supports LMU members with preparing and establishing company start-ups. The Spin-off Service offers advisory services, information on sponsorship or funding opportunities and accompanies projects once funding has been obtained. In seminars and talks selected experts impart the necessary specialist knowledge for starting a business. The Spin-off Service is a partner of the Munich Business Plan Competition and the project sponsor of the Bavarian funding programme FLÜGGE.

Characteristics of assistance to differently abled personsIn terms of providing guidance to students with disabilities or chronic illnesses, measures have been developed to raise awareness of the needs of these students and expand the guidance in all aspects of course organisation, e.g. a comprehensive guideline for barrier-free teaching and the first steps of a concept for a "peer-to-peer" tandem and mentoring programme for students with a disability. Disadvantage compensation for those with a severe disability or equivalent is defined in the examination regulations.

Characteristics of diversity advancementInternational make-up particularly of academic staff and student body thanks to international cooperation and contacts; services for children, students and staff (e.g. nurseries and holiday childcare); mentoring programme with a special focus on female junior scientists; central contact point for equality and inclusion.
