  • Special features regarding teaching
    Subjects are primarily quantitative and research-oriented; the specialisations in the Master programmes are based on the four research fields of the faculty. The extensive e-learning programme supports continuous learning and individual analysis of the learning progress. Practical teamwork and mobility windows with more than 60 partner universities worldwide. Student course evaluations for the didactic evaluation of lecturers. Many courses address the social consequences of economic activity.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
    Attractive courses abroad with more than 60 partner universities worldwide. Supervision of students by the faculty's Exchange Office. The mobility window in the Business Administration Bachelor's allows students to gain international experience. The work placement office helps students who plan to complete work placements abroad. Numerous English-language events. The RWTH Business School offers three of its continuing education courses entirely in English. Constant involvement of international guest lecturers in all courses. Study trips to Thailand and China, for example.

  • Special features regarding the equipment
    Practice & Exam Platform DYNEXITE creates individual learning and exam materials and promotes small-scale intermediate exams & continuous learning. Online business simulation. Video recordings of many events (flipped classroom, MOOCs on edX). The laboratory for experimental economic research enables auditorium experiments. EIKON is offered free of charge for access to current economic data. A computer, learning and event room supports the quantitative orientation of teaching, software courses, use of STATA and "SAP boardroom".
  • Special features regarding research activities
    Research profile is developed at the interdisciplinary interface between economic sciences and engineering/natural sciences. This thematic orientation utilises the special opportunities provided by a technical university. The specialisations of the Master's programmes are structured on the basis of the resulting four research areas. Teaching content in all programmes also focuses on the critical discussion of current research findings, and mathematical-analytical research methods are emphasised when and where appropriate.
  • Support for founders
    The transfer and incubator centre supports students and doctoral students in realising their start-up ideas. About 30-40 start-ups are supported annually. Founders are assigned a personal mentor, and start-up seminars are offered regularly as well. Award in the university competition EXIST Start-up culture - the start-up university. Broad start-up-oriented range of courses (theoretical, practical – use of case studies, exercises – and international – with stays abroad over several days), particularly on account of the Chair in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
  • Other special features
    The faculty was re-accredited in 2016 by the internationally renowned agency Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). During the on-site visit, particular attention was paid to the faculty's ability to innovate, the external impact of teaching and research activities, and the commitment to research and teaching. The Faculty's Code of Conduct for Teaching was also recognised, which was drafted and signed in 2011 by the teaching staff and student representatives. Furthermore, RWTH 2019 was again successful in the Excellence competition.
