Support for foundersTechUp is the department's own organisational unit that generally is also open to interested parties of other departments. TechUp draws attention on entrepreneurship and start-ups as an alternative to "conventional careers". The contents and information are communicated via lectures, competitions and "founders' days". In addition, TechUp is setting up a network of active entrepreneurship ambassadors at the departments of the University of Paderborn, which will then act as multipliers in turn. This also includes measures related to start-up success.
Characteristics of diversity advancementThe Faculty is actively involved in the equality concept of the university. In addition, it funds from its own resources a support system for young female scientists. The focus is on support for travels allowing for the presentation of one's own research or participation in workshops relevant to one's own research. This also promotes the networking of young scientists at the same time.
Other special featuresEconomic Sciences offers degree courses with unrivalled career prospects. Efficient study management provides for short study durations. The good relations between companies, research institutes and chairs of the University and the good technical and personnel resources provide excellent conditions for the study of economics. Paderborn is a campus university where everything is close together.
