Support for foundersSince May 2008, the Centre for Entrepreneurship Research has provided support for students, staff and alumni on their path to independence. There is a co-working space for creative entrepreneurs, providing ample space for their ideas. Networking is an essential factor of success, especially for company in the start-up phase. We therefore offer entrepreneurs and those who want to become entrepreneurs a wide network of contacts with national and university-internal partners of excellence.
Characteristics of assistance to differently abled personsThere is a central guidance centre for students with health impairments, which provides advice and support to prospective students and students with chronic illness, mental illness and long-term or chronic physical impairments. These, and teachers too, can obtain answers to questions about barrier-free access at Viadrina. Infrastructure barriers as well as barriers that result from institutional processes or modes of communication are examined and removed on an ongoing basis. Programme-related equalisation of disadvantages is available.
Characteristics of diversity advancementWith its international and cross-cultural focus, the university has very successfully pursued diversity approaches in terms of substance and structure since its inception. Thanks to an excellent equality concept, its commitment to family-friendliness and good support services for students with a chronic illness or disability, the university is constantly living up to aspects of diversity at a high level.
