Support for foundersThe faculty has a Chair in Entrepreneurship. It forms the institutional core of a larger start-up and transfer-oriented "Interaction Centre". Both start-up research and specific start-up assistance are provided here. Through joint professorships, start-up activities grounded in engineering sciences are supervised, "ego incubators" receive business administration support, etc. Furthermore, the department's curriculum offers a rich variety of courses on preparing business plans, entrepreneurial decisions and actions.
-
Characteristics of assistance to differently abled personsEasily accessible, centrally located department building, convenient parking; Flexible optimisation of study and exam procedures, customised individually ("equalisation of disadvantages"), such as extensions on projects and exams, technical aids, etc.; Curricula that can be adapted in line with individual's respective disability; OVGU has a representative for students with health problems and/or disabilities. All departments have their contact persons, as does, of course, the Department of Economic Sciences.
-
Characteristics of diversity advancementThe department, like OVGU overall, represents an open university culture characterised by transparency. It views competent handling of diversity and cultural diversity as an enrichment of university life and shared potential in general. Neither individual nor structural discrimination and disadvantages are tolerated, but instead addressed openly, visibly and thus rendered modifiable. In this context, the university is committed to equal opportunities for all university members in terms of education and living conditions.
