Special features regarding teachingThe Education department is committed to creating a close link between research and teaching. The research focus applies both in the Bachelor's degree course as well as in the Master's course, and for professional teaching and learning. As early as in the Bachelor's degree course, research-oriented seminars and intensive methodology training in problematic application contexts are offered. Teaching is measured in relation to ambitious standards of university didactics, and dialogical learning, subject-related learning or project-related learning is intensively practised depending on content.

Special features regarding research activitiesResearch activities are cooperation projects with several specialist colleges and deal with central issues related to participation in the educational, social and labour market system. The following research cluster been developed with this focus in mind: Social Justice, Public Health and Rehabilitation from the perspective of inclusion; Media use in the context of the life-long learning; Participation research with a particular focus on inclusion/exclusion; Teaching/learning/subject-related didactic research; Europeanisation and transnational processes.
