  • Special features regarding teaching
    Short, compulsory introductory phase; opportunities for specialisation are provided as early as the second semester; option of studying English technical languages in a dedicated advanced module; participation in courses of the university's Learning through Research programme (teaching and testing of methodological skills for systematically investigating research issues involving interdisciplinary contexts and creatively conducive approaches); possibility of "independent studies" for especially gifted students (credited, relatively small research projects).
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
    Coordination of one-year Assistant Teacher positions and shorter teaching placements in English-speaking countries; fixed links to 12 first-class schools in England, Scotland and Australia, including, for example, Fettes College in Edinburgh. Annual summer school in Scotland with fully credited courses for approx. 40 students. Teaching is conducted entirely in English; credited compulsory stay abroad of at least six weeks.
