Special features regarding teachingThe students are trained in academic thinking. Through courses, research and practical, psychological activities, they develop knowledge and skills that enable them to identify psychological tasks, formulate and implement appropriate solutions with scientific backing as well as to select or independently develop methods to analyse, check and evaluate psychological activities. This enables them to work as psychologists.

Special features regarding the international orientationParticipation in the Erasmus+ programme for semesters abroad and bilateral exchange agreement with Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Special features regarding the equipmentThe institute has its own library with approx. 45,000 titles and access to various subject-specific online databases. University computer lab offers extensive hardware and software incl. special statistics software. In addition, the institute has extensively outfitted laboratories in General Psychology, Social Psychology and Political Psychology, Psychological Diagnostics and Clinical Psychology.

Special features regarding research activitiesThe Institute of Psychology has a strong emphasis on basic and applied research combined with an empirical experimental focus; Basic research with specialisations in Visual Perception, Emotional Psychology, Social Psychology and Political Psychology; Applied Research with a specialisation in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, Psychological Diagnostics and Occupational and Organisational Psychology.
