Special features regarding teachingNew library, top-quality courses in the basic subjects, small working groups also to accompany beginner's tutorials, high degree of internationality amongst the teaching staff and in the teaching content, specialisations in European Law and in Comparative Law, interesting, broad international programme, US guest professor programme, complete programme of demanding university exam preparation courses run by professors, with essay writing course and examination clinic, strong relation to practice thanks to inclusion of high-quality lecturers in the specialist studies, subject-specific didactics courses.
Special features regarding the international orientationInternational and comparative modules and courses of study as well as programmes entirely geared towards foreign legal systems are worth mentioning: French law school, guest professor programme, focus areas that are international and comparative law - especially with regard to the cooperation of the faculty with the Freiburg-based Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law, trinational EUCOR Master, German-French double Master , Moot Courts.
Special features regarding the equipmentThe departmental library is located in one of the most modern university libraries in Europe. There is a newly equipped computer pool with approx. 100 workplaces. Students and lecturers have extensive access to all common online databases and campus WiFi.
Special features regarding research activitiesBroad and top-level coverage of the basic subjects, specific focus on Commercial Law in all its forms with European and international references through research work and teaching experience abroad, well-founded orientation in the areas of international and European law and comparative law, high degree of international networking of teachers (Europe, North - and South America, East and Southeast Asia, Africa).
