    The Faculty of Mathematics at the TU München is one of the leading and most modern Mathematics institutes in Europe. Key area: The whole range of Applied Mathematics with particular focus on Numerics, Mathematical Physics, Optimisation, Biomathematics, Stochastics, Visualisation, Financial Mathematics and Data Sciences. Strong networking within the economic area of Munich; numerous research prizes and funding. Supra-regional and international third-party funded projects with partner universities. We promote student research.

    TUM sees itself as an entrepreneurial university and proactively promotes start-ups by its scientists and students. In particular, research results in mathematics have often been the basis of successful spin-offs. Mathematics professor as a founding ambassador to the Department of Mathematics. TUM start-up consulting through "TUM ForTe - Research Promotion and Technology Transfer". Especially in the financial sector industrial partner programme: "Fit for tomorrow.
