    Solid basic education in mathematics; large software development project (software engineering internship); subject-specific foreign language training; excellent supervision ratio in the Bachelor's courses and very good equipment; Bachelor Internet Computing as an applied computer science course with a focus on Internet technologies, which at the same time enables students to acquire basic knowledge in the areas of business and law as well as society, media and communication; in addition to teaching a broad basic knowledge base, close integration between research and teaching.

    Own room with 31 workstations for supervised practice with didactic network (exchange of image content, remote control of the PC workstations); three computer rooms for students for free practice with 72 workstations, 46 of which have recently been updated, and ten workstations for group work; lobby with installation areas, sockets, monitors for student laptops; Media centre with studio and news rooms; faculty area: various partially renewed servers, computing clusters, database computers & GPU compute cluster; fabrication labs (FabLab); use of university computing resources via Internet.

    Strong interconnection of mathematics and computer science; overall focus on the university's "networked society"; interdisciplinary link with humanities and law; focal points: a) Data as raw material: Management, use and processing of large, complex, dynamic and distributed data sets, b) Security and cryptography, c) Algorithmics and mathematical modelling, d) Algebra, geometry and logic, e) Didactics of mathematics and computer science. Furthermore, the faculty is establishing a new focus on artificial intelligence.
