Support for foundersTU Darmstadt and the Department of Computer Science are committed to promoting business start-ups. The Startup and Innovation Center HIGHEST at TU Darmstadt combines a range of different measures to promote new businesses. HIGHEST offers advice, qualifications and support with all questions relating to start-ups. In teaching, "Entrepreneurship & Innovation" has become established as a subsidiary subject. The Department of Computer Science supports start-ups by providing resources (space, IT infrastructure, etc.).
Characteristics of assistance to differently abled personsStudents with disabilities face particular challenges when they enter higher education. TU Darmstadt and the Department of Computer Science want to give these students the best possible support. Students receive individual advice in the department and guidance and examination arrangements are adjusted accordingly (e.g. written additions to oral examinations for students with hearing impairment and speech disorders, extensions for assignments and written examinations, permission to use writing aids, adjustment of requirements governing practical work).
Characteristics of diversity advancementThe Department of Computer Science supports diversity with many different offerings, such as language and cultural courses and scientific working methods for international students. There is also a dedicated mentoring system to help international students settle into university life.
