Other special featuresThe institute is involved extensively in the promotion of pupils who are interested in Mathematics. In particular, for many years there have been projects for Mathematics study groups and weekend courses organised by the Mathematics association Rho e.V. (http://rho.math.uni-rostock.de). It has a central position in pupil competitions, especially the Mathematics Olympics (http://www.mathematik-olympiaden.de). The City of Rostock is very attractive due to its proximity to the Baltic Sea and cultural student life. There is a cafeteria nearby which has won numerous awards.
