Special features regarding teachingThe department offers two dual-degree programmes. For the Bachelor’s, there is a dual-degree programme with the FDIBA at the Technical University of Sofia (Bulgaria). Students can take modules that are one-to-one identical to those offered by the department. For the Master’s, there is a dual-degree programme with the institute SIIHT in Thailand. Furthermore, the department has a specific position for Coordinator of International Study.

Special features regarding the equipmentBuilding refurbished and modernised for the department; More than 25 computer labs; SAP competence centre at the department (UCC); modern lecture theatres and seminar rooms; Connected to the German research network (DFN) with 10 GBit/sec (fibreglass); All servers with 1G or 10G are connected to the campus or, depending on service, to the appropriate private networks of the FIN; Many different software systems; University WiFi and access points also outside the building (FIN outdoors); All labs are connected with at least 2x 10G LWL- and 4x1G copper cables.

Support for foundersThe department supports interested parties in the start-up of businesses, and also supports the TUGZ at the university in this work. Apart from this, there is also a start-up school that provides a modern training programme and which helps you with the following: To identify and evaluate business ideas, gain access to the start-up scene and obtain assistance with the application for state and federal grant programmes. Further support by the SAP Big Data Innovation Centre. Students also have the option of taking a specialisation in the field of web start-ups.

Other special featuresSmart boards; Laboratory for Land and Air Robotics; National Demonstration Centre for School IT (close cooperation with Media Education degree programme at the Faculty of Human Sciences); 24-hour access to the building and laboratories; Business Informatics is part of the Faculty of Computer Science; The faculty sees itself as an engineering faculty. The largest SAP University Competence Centre (SAP UCC) in the world is at the Faculty of Computer Science, and is the basis for research and development on business applications; student participation through team projects.
