Special features regarding the equipmentThe entire campus is equipped with WiFi. The institute has several generally accessible computer rooms. One of these rooms is intended as a student workroom only. The others can be used if they are not occupied for courses. In all of these rooms there is HP ThinClients together with the software and electricity and network connections used in the basic education. Labs for special applications are also available to the work groups for research and teaching, such as databases, multimedia, FPGA, model railways, real time systems.
Support for foundersUniversity Centre for Entrepreneurship, in which members of the department are involved on different levels and offering different services. Members of the department are involved in other services offered by the university and the neighbouring science and technology park. Cooperation with the Digitale Wirtschaft Schleswig-Holstein (DiWiSH) cluster management.
Characteristics of assistance to differently abled personsIndividual advice according to the arrangements set down in the procedural regulations for examinations in the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes at the university.
Characteristics of diversity advancementTutorial for women during the orientation phase at university to facilitate networking and on questions relating to courses in the first semester. Additional options in Arabic for courses in Programming and Mathematics for Computer Science/Informatics A in the first semester, and block courses in Arabic during the non-lecture period in preparation for the aforementioned courses. Option of exercises in English to support self-learning among international students with conditional admission to the Master’s programme.
