Support for foundersThe University of Lübeck is one of a few EXIST Entrepreneur Universities, a distinction awarded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). The “GründerCube” is located at the centre of the Lübeck campus and is the central coordination and advisory office for all questions relating to business start-ups. This is also the location of the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Business Development, and where the Lübeck Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) has set up a dedicated branch office. Together we combine our skills and services relating to self-employment and business start-ups for our students.

Characteristics of assistance to differently abled personsAs part of its own “healthy university” project, the university is initially attempting to help prevent health problems. Students who have health impairments separately receive an individual "Green Card”, which indicates provisions for reasonable adjustments rather than medical conditions. If students present the Green Card to teaching staff, they are granted e.g. more time during written examinations or can take them in a separate room, or their requirements are taken into account in course/event organisation. The entire campus has wheelchair access;
-
Characteristics of diversity advancementthe ‘Vielfalt gestalten’ diversity audit is being carried out at the UzL; the ‘Internationalisation of higher education’ and 'Family-friendly university’ audits have been completed. There are many European and non-European exchange and cooperation relationships.
