Special features regarding teachingThe group is strongly internationally networked through a series of internationally coordinated research projects (EU-ITNs STRIKE, HPC-LEAP, ROMSOC, EU-STREP NANOCOPS) and therefore offers Bachelor students in the final phase of their degree, and Master students the opportunity to participate in international cooperation. Students have access to 17 partner universities as part of the ERASMUS exchange programme.

Special features regarding the equipmentThe department has generously equipped Linux PC clusters for students. They are available to students from the beginning of their studies. All offices are equipped with workstations; PCs or Thin-Clients in accordance with the academic workstation programme. Additional local computing resources are available in the university's Centre for Information and Media Processing (ZIM) and in the Computer Lab for Parallel Algorithms and Stochastic Simulations (COMPASS) of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Applied Informatics and Scientific Computing (IZ II).
