Support for foundersThe Start-UP Center of the OTH Regensburg supports students, alumni and academic staff with business start-ups. Support with the start-up process: Writing a business plan, identifying funding opportunities and programmes, finding network partners. Lecturers from the faculty are heavily involved in the Management Cup Bavaria: Participating students, in team work and as “entrepreneurs/executives”, learn and experience economic thinking and actions and how companies function in competition.

Characteristics of assistance to differently abled personsThe advancement of equal opportunity for all members of the university is described in the OTH Regensburg mission statement. This applies also to any disabilities and medical conditions. The university offers a special advisory service in this context. At departmental level, we make provisions for reasonable adjustments for examinations and provide active support with assignment of work placements, completion of final dissertations and planning practical units. We also support the use of assistants (e.g. to accompany students with vision or hearing impairment) and assistive technology.
-
Characteristics of diversity advancementOTH Regensburg actively supports and promotes the diversity of all members of the university, irrespective of gender, origin, status, age, family commitments, religion and any disability/medical condition. Two women’s officers in the department actively support female students. An international officer is the contact person for visiting students. The courses available in English are intended to make studying easier for students with a limited knowledge of German. Part-time study and part-time and home-office solutions for staff members are designed to assist with family commitments.
-
Other special featuresThe Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics will move to a new faculty building on the OTH Regensburg campus in the summer semester of 2018. The new building has a modern lecture theatre infrastructure and a large number of special laboratories. Spaces for spontaneous learning groups have been created for the students. The location on the campus is to shorten distances and promote networking with other faculties.
