Special features regarding teachingAll courses are supplemented by intensively supervised practical sessions and projects in small groups. The training is practice-oriented and is enriched by a practical semester and practical projects at companies. The transfer of new research findings to teaching is guaranteed by the close integration of applied research and teaching.

Special features regarding the international orientationThe Faculty places special emphasis on partnerships in English-speaking regions, as well as on exchange programmes with Asia and Latin America. Student and staff mobility is encouraged in multiple ways by the international representatives of the programmes and the university’s International Office.

Special features regarding the equipmentThe Computer Science courses operate joint labs with different subject areas. This covers system-related topics from Wireless LANs, Distributed Systems, System Programming and Home Automation, Software Engineering through to application-oriented problems in Digital Image Processing and Visualisation, Computer Vision and Mixed Reality, Mobile Applications and Enterprise Content Management. Likewise, six computer rooms are available for practical courses and independent practice.

Support for foundersThe Competence & Career Center of the RheinMain University offers students who are in interested in business start-ups free entrepreneurship advice, a “Business Start-Up” elective module and various information events (http://www.hs-rm.de/de/service/competence-career-center/#gruenderservice-1701).

Characteristics of assistance to differently abled personsProspective students with disabilities and chronic illness can succeed at the RheinMain University. Central Student Services provide differentiated advice on course selection. In the admissions process (hardship) and throughout the courses (exam conditions), students with disabilities and chronic illness are granted equalisation of disadvantages measures where necessary in order to compensate for existing impairments or disproportionate difficulties, allowing them to succeed academically by putting in place appropriate arrangements.

The university-wide facilities of Central Student Services, the International Office, the Psychotherapeutic Counselling Centre and the Career Service promote diversity among university members.
