Special features regarding the international orientationInternational Class: The International Class programme is interdisciplinary and revolves around international issues. It is designed for two semesters and combines business administration, business informatics and business law. The classes are taught in English. International Class students can attend all courses of the German programmes. The International Class courses are generally for 4 hours per week (5 ECTS credits). international focus: Foreign-language courses, international topics, promotion of stays abroad, International Office.

Special features regarding the equipmentMultimedia Centre supports the inclusion of multimedia technologies, offers video conference systems, the information system (LSF) for current information relating to academic studies, e-learning systems (e.g. ILIAS), production studio for e-learning applications, communications system (e-mail and calendar server, groupware server), VPN communication interface for home access to IT resources at the Hochschule Wismar, www server for information research and publications. WiFi on the entire campus/Microsoft MSDN Academic Alliance Program for students/software packages such as Adobe, DATEV, SAP, LUDUS.
Special features regarding research and developmentConsulting and research projects of individual lecturers in collaboration with companies (regional and supra-regional) with opportunities for (advanced) students to take part; European third-party funded projects; Didactics of Law as an object of research (legal clinics, research-based learning, online learning events); learning-research project "Development of legal language skills"; student research and development teams (e.g. for business start up advice for students from other faculties, as well as guidance for medium-sized companies in the region).

Support for foundersThe Robert Schmidt Institute of HS Wismar offers the following for those wanting to be self-employed: Continuing education on entrepreneurship; Networking and contacts in career development; Exchange of experience, networking and cooperation among entrepreneurs, latest recent research findings on key issues regarding start-ups and regional development. Founders' Office of the school: Since 2009, the Founders' Office is a cross-departmental service point for all those with an interest in start-ups. Network of consultants, partners and sponsors to advise students (business plan development); WPM: Start-up consulting.
Characteristics of assistance to differently abled personsEqualisation of disadvantages for students with disabilities and chronic or mental illness: Option of time extensions for written assignments, deadline extensions, suspension of regular deadlines and thus study period extension, equalisation and substitution measures, absences can be made up through individual exam dates, conversion of exam mode is possible, technical or personnel assistance (e.g. special PCs for the visually impaired or limited writing capabilities, use of professionals, e.g. sign language interpreters).
