Special features regarding teachingIn the introductory phase of the degree course, there is the course-related module "Orientation and Methods", which includes scientific work, career orientation and the implementation of a first project. Basic modules are deepened and accompanied by exercises in small groups, practicals and examinations by lecturers as well as tutorials by students. The degree offers a high number of study-integrated internships in our modern laboratory environment and project-oriented learning in cooperation with companies as well as close supervision by lecturers and scientific staff.

Special features regarding research and developmentA growing number of research projects document the great importance of the university as an innovation driver for the region. Research is also profile-forming for informatics, especially in our focus area "Future-oriented agricultural system technology" with the EU project "AgrarNet - communication platform for mobile and time-critical agricultural processes" or also "Agro-Technicum" are research topics for our informatics.

Support for foundersKnowledge and Technology Transfer Office of the University of Applied Sciences and the University of Osnabrück: Every year, about 20-25 students of our faculty take part in counselling sessions on self-employment/starting a business. The intensity of the discussions depends on the complexity of the (research) ideas.
