  • Special features regarding teaching
    Engineering training (B.Eng.) with a solid basic course and practical specialisation course from the 5th semester; individual support through tutorial system in the introductory phase; wide range of specialisation options and focus areas; study programmes including in Renewable Energies and Mechatronics, interdisciplinary study opportunities); after completing the Bachelor's degree, further studies in the Master's area are possible with various courses. Extensive, modern laboratory equipment; practical curricula.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
    Regular exchange with the German-Jordanian University in Amman (Jordan) of the St. Petersburg State University of Service and Economics in Russia (St. Petersburg) and the Escuela Technica Superior de Ingeniera Industrial in Spain (Malaga). The international students are prepared in a special preparatory course to study in the department for Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Information Engineering. Summer school available. There are extra-curricular offers for the acquisition of intercultural skills.

    The faculty offers the following laboratories: Basic laboratory, Automation Technology, Embedded Systems and Information Technology laboratory, Industrial Engineering, Renewable Energies and Electromobility laboratory as well as a computer pool. All the laboratories are state-of-the-art.

    Regional and nationwide cooperation, interdisciplinary research and doctorates. E.g. Smart Punch (AI, image recognition, Uni Jena); EMOLSE 2020: eLKW with department of Economics; Subtle: thermoelectric humidifier and dehumidifier, HumFlow: Minimally invasive moisture measurement method.

    Seminars for company formation, business simulation in the curriculum, professorial mentoring within the framework of EXIST start-up grants.
  • Other special features
    Possibility of studying at an adapted pace with an extended, intensively supervised initial study phase in the bachelor's degree courses Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and Business Engineering. Hessian model project. Mandatory registration for mentorships in the core subjects. Fulda University of Applied Sciences has its own right to award doctorates in four doctoral centres. Cooperative Doctorates with a university are also possible.
