  • Special features regarding teaching
    The qualification aims of the Industrial Engineering course are to provide a good basic technical education in the first four semesters. In these four semesters, the basics of Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Economics and Engineering are taught and important methodological skills are gained. In the final three semesters, students choose a technical and economic specialisation. In terms of content, the degree course lectures are approx. 39% Engineering and around 36% Economics, with 8.4% being the basics of Mathematics and 11% relating to inter-disciplinary topics.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
    Regular exchange with the German-Jordanian University in Amman (Jordan) of the St. Petersburg State University of Service and Economics in Russia (St. Petersburg) and the Escuela Technica Superior de Ingeniera Industrial in Spain (Malaga). Measures to increase the number of outgoing students have also been taken. The share of English-taught courses was increased in order to make the programmes more attractive for incoming students. This is to encourage students to go abroad.
  • Special features regarding the equipment
    The faculty offers the following laboratories: basic laboratory, Automation Engineering Laboratory, Embedded Systems and Information Engineering Laboratory, Industrial Engineering Laboratory and Laboratory for Renewable Energies and Electromobility, Simulation and a CAD Laboratory, computer pool. All the laboratories are state-of-the-art.
  • Special features regarding research and development
    the Faculty conducts research with companies in the region and with research institutes across Germany. 2 cooperative doctorates in the period 2013-2015.

  • Support for founders
    Students can participate in seminars Business Start-Up I and II as well as a business simulation.
  • Characteristics of assistance to differently abled persons
    Advice, information and support at Fulda University for prospective students and students with disabilities, chronic illness (including mental illness) or specific learning disorders regarding course organisation, individual disadvantage compensation and barrier-free campus. Individual health problems are taken into account at exams.
  • Characteristics of diversity advancement
    Promotion of diversity at the Fulda University overall, e.g. Family-Friendly University audit (certified since 2006), diversity audit "Promoting Diversity", Total E-Quality award (2009, 2012, 2015). In the Bachelor’s programmes Electrical and Electronic and Information Engineering as well as Information Engineering: Adjusted-speed study with extended introductory phase and regular study period as a binding study model with special teaching/learning and supervisory formats available. Preferential treatment of module applications of students with children.
