Special features regarding teachingIndustrial Engineering at Constance uses the models Technology Manager or Engineering Entrepreneur as a basis. It is composed of 50 % technical and 50% economics content. The courses provide first-class, practice-related and individual training in Industrial Engineering. Training objective is responsible and broad entrepreneurial thinking.
-
Special features regarding the international orientationIndustrial Engineering programmes are designed in such a way that stays abroad can be realised easily. Credit recognition is possible especially with respect to compulsory electives, but also in compulsory subjects. Before going abroad, students generally receive commitments regarding the credits obtained abroad. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering has a partnership and exchange programme (teachers and students) with the Kettering University Flint (Michigan, USA).
-
Special features regarding the equipmentExperimental setups during the course which are further developed and run by the students in the lab, increasing the practical relevance of the course. Highly modern facilities are available for research and development topics. A high standard of equipment guarantees fulfilment of the high demands on application-oriented research in the key research areas.
-
Special features regarding research and developmentResearch projects in Innovation Management (e.g. CoPS research group) supported by various sponsors promote inter-disciplinary teaching of a wide range of subjects. Technical research laboratories (e.g. model factory, lean production lab, IOX laboratory, materials) are operated together with industrial partners and cooperation companies. This results in pronounced integration of students, many of whom go on to do a doctorate in the field.
