Promotion of students in all study phases (support courses, small groups, additional exercises, tutorials); tutorial; practical training and good industrial contacts; substantial basic studies; wide range of courses in the main course (numerous options for individual study design); 5 specialisations in the main course: Automation, Information or Communication Technology, Supply Chain Management, Energy Management; modern laboratory equipment; graded system of information events for new students and in every higher semester; internship semester.
Special features regarding the international orientation
Numerous institutionalised university contacts with partner universities worldwide; from the second to the seventh semester, a course in English to promote language acquisition at the specialist level.
Special features regarding the equipment
Large number of laboratories that are very well equipped; two ships (solar + fuel cells) for laboratory internships, project work and research; faculty's own PC rooms; software licenses that enable students to use them outside of the university; best university library in Germany 2009 - 2015 (BIX); WiFi accessible on campus.
Special features regarding research and development
Targeted research funding anchored in the structure and development plan; individual research is supported; diverse R&D topics (see given Internet address); project and final theses in current research areas; some Master students are also working as project staff in research.
Support for founders
The university cooperates with the founders' office Campus Start-Up in Konstanz to support start-ups. In addition, the HTWG is one of seven universities in Europe that hosts the international CREA Summer Academy as part of the Startup Europe initiative.
