    Currently, approx. 10% of all students in each year complete a semester abroad. In addition, another approx. 10% gain international experience through their company during the practical and project phases.

    Laptops and PCs, projectors, loudspeaker system and WiFi in every lecture theatre, multifunctional PC laboratories as well as a mobile Notebook laboratory, Internet café, computer room for practical sessions, e-learning portal, Student Personal Information Centre (SPIC), information monitor and digital signpost in the entrance area and on each floor, use of interactive whiteboards for teaching, access to technical equipment of partner companies, virtualisation environment for exam preparation for students by means of virtual desktops (VDI), 3D printers.

    Involvement in research projects of partner companies; supervised, application-related research during the practical phases, the placement semester and completion of the thesis, regular empirical research activities within the framework of the module on "Conducting Academic Work", visits to specialist conferences and fairs (Hanover Trade Fair), students also benefit from research projects carried out by the individual departments.

  • Characteristics of assistance to differently abled persons
    Disadvantage compensation for students with long-term or chronic illnesses or disabilities is granted by extending the time needed for examinations, or by performing equivalent activities in another form. Information on legal regulations can be found in the examination regulations. The Centre for the Blind and Visually Impaired Students (BliZ) also offers assistance. There is an extensive range of activities from the commencement of studies to supervision during studies all the way to barrier-free examinations.

    The THM is explicitly committed to gender equality in its basic principles; Sub-project: “Gender & Diversity in MINT” concept, plan for the advancement of women (framework plan for additional measures) to enforce the equality of women and men at the THM: Increasing the proportion of women, compatibility of family and career, recruiting of female students, service for families (child & studies, family-friendly university), centre for blind and visually impaired students, Girls' Day, contact group for mentor network of women in the natural sciences and technology.
