Special features regarding teachingMission Statement SPIRiT: Student oriented/Practice based/International/Research driven/in Tübingen; longitudinal acquisition of competencies in doctor-patient communication, practical skills, clinical everyday life/patient safety and scientificity (Tübingen Research Experience). Possibilities for inclination orientation. Freedom for promotion and diversity management. Study in semester groups. Support by study mentors and learning portfolio. Modern teaching formats/POL, interdisciplinarity. Admission in winter and summer semester; reformed standard degree course; centre of excellence in medical didactics.

Arrangements of special exercises at the department11 rooms for practical-technical and digital training, 35 emergency mannequins; 4 standing plus 2 mobile sonographs; over 30 models for practical skills in the ward area; Medi-KIT doctor's room; approx. 30 different actors for simulation are used in teaching.

Special features regarding research activitiesResearch interests include Neurosciences, Oncology and Immunology, Infectious Disease Research and Vascular Medicine with Diabetes Research. Medical technology is a cross-sectional area, as are the core facilities. Tübingen is represented at the DFG with three clusters of excellence, participation in seven SFBs, three research groups and four research training groups. Furthermore, four centres of health research, the Centre for Personalized Medicine, the Comprehensive Cancer Centre, the Centre for Rare Diseases, etc. are located here.
