    Modern skills lab for early linking of propaedeutic and clinical teaching content; further development of the curriculum in cooperation with student advisory team; modern treatment methods; e-learning projects; structured training programme for smooth transition from treatment simulation to patient treatment; provision of clinical instruments; size of semester cohorts allows uncomplicated communication between lecturers and students; use of quality assurance tools; supervised student diagnostics in orthodontics.

    The Orthodontics Clinic cooperates on a scientific basis with the University of Nijmegen (Netherlands), as well as with the University of Maribor (Slovenia) amongst others. Research network of the Clinic for Dental Prosthetics with colleagues in private practice.

    Prosthetics: Research work focuses on clinical studies on (1) treatment concepts (e.g. composite bridges) and (2) interactions of different medical devices (oral soft tissue); orthodontics: Biomechanical research on orthodontic appliances, research in 3D imaging/diagnostics and in the field of facial/chewing muscles, development of an e-learning platform; ongoing research projects in dental conservation science on clinically relevant issues, e.g. optimal selection and processing of bonding systems in restorative therapy.
