Further information provided by the department

  • Special features regarding teaching
At our institute, students experience teaching that makes use of an electronic learning platform, interactive lectures, a high number of practical components, study-integrated examinations and close cooperation with other departments (e.g. Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Palaeontology, etc.) as well as other departments and non-university research institutes (Max Planck Society, Leibniz institutes, Robert Koch Institute, etc.).
  • Other special features
The Campus Dahlem is situated in the south of Berlin and is an attractive campus in the green surroundings of Berlin. The Institute of Biology is distributed across several buildings so that it is possible to study in smaller work groups despite a high number of students.
