    Provision of a sound scientific education on the basis of current knowledge in biology as a foundation for successful professional practice; anchoring of research-based learning in all modules from the beginning; particularly high proportion of internships from the beginning of the degree course; curricular anchoring of the acquisition of interdisciplinary qualifications (soft skills); project management and project leadership; possibility of individual design of the curricula in the M.Sc. degree courses with particular emphasis on research-oriented, practical content.
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
    Great focus on student exchange via Erasmus with 115 places/year and 32 exchange universities; a mobility window is provided for this in the 5th semester of the Bachelor's degree course, in which a semester abroad can be ideally integrated into the studies; double degree programme in the Master's degree course with São Paolo, Brazil (SãMBio); further exchange opportunities with India and Japan as well as "free mover"; international doctoral programmes; central contact person for student mobility matters (coordination for internationalisation of studies and teaching).
