    The University of Rostock has numerous partnerships with universities in Europe as part of the ERASMUS+ programme. The contracts are concluded between the individual departments and supervised by the subject coordinators (in the field of physics currently about fifteen).

  • Special features regarding the equipment
    In 2015 a new research and lecture hall building was opened; the complex also includes the laboratory building of the "life, light, matter" department of the interdisciplinary faculty. Equipment: Ultra-short pulse laser systems including pulse formation, high resolution laser spectroscopy, scanning microscope with atomic resolution, low temperature cryostate bath, helium (nano-)droplet isolation spectroscopy, preparation lab, high performance computing cluster.
  • Support for founders
    The university’s Centre for Entrepreneurship supports scientists and students at every stage of their business start-up project: Beginning with the evaluation and structuring of ideas and concepts, to support with the formal and organisational founding of the business. The business model is reviewed and evaluated, and support is provided with writing the business plan. The UR offers teaching on start-up theory, which can be selected from the non-physics electives of our degree programmes.

    Special arrangements as reasonable adjustments for examinations (Article 18 of the framework examination regulations); Individual part-time study is possible (Article 6 of the examination regulations for the specific programme); Institute buildings are accessible;
  • Characteristics of diversity advancement
    There is a coordination office for diversity and equality at the university; it is headed by the Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Equality and Diversity Management. Intercultural training is available, and a Diversity Day is held every year. Various courses of the UR are dedicated to diversity and are available as part of the general curriculum or as an elective module in soft skills. The University of Rostock offers a range of advisory services to support its members in different situations and personal circumstances.
