  • Special features regarding teaching
    A postgraduate exchange programme is in place with renowned universities in the US, Australia, Sweden, Italy and China. International postgraduate exchange is also possible as part of the ERASMUS programme. There are guest professorships for colleagues from abroad and guest professorships abroad for pharmacy professors from Jena (e.g. Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA).
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
    A postgraduate exchange programme is in place with renowned universities in the US, Australia, Sweden, Italy and China. International postgraduate exchange is also possible as part of the ERASMUS programme. There are guest professorships for colleagues from abroad and guest professorships abroad for pharmacy professors from Jena (e.g. Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA).
  • Special features regarding the equipment
    Clean room for sterile working or drug production; Nanotechnology; Access to state-of-the-art bioanalytical or cellular-biological methods/equipment, also for use for student teaching (fluorescence microscope, UPLC-TripleQuadrupole mass spectrometer, flow cytometer, capillary electrophoresis). Access to the equipment of the Jena Center for Soft Matter (JCSM).
  • Support for founders
    The Pharmacy professor (Prof. Dagmar Fischer) is the start-up ambassador. The university’s Service and Transfer Centre offers specific programmes to support business start-ups.
  • Characteristics of assistance to differently abled persons
    People such as sign-language interpreters or blind escorts are available to provide assistance. Programmes are offered with special schedules and conditions for reasonable adjustments.
  • Characteristics of diversity advancement
    Language courses are offered by the university, with coordination taken care of by programme coordinators. There is also an explicit culture of welcome practised at the university.

    There is an ideal ratio between professors and students with regular ‘Round Table’ meetings (twice a year), where all positive and negative points in a student’s life/courses are discussed.
