  • Special features regarding the equipment
    TUHH, founded as the most northerly technical university in Germany, is one of the most innovative and modern universities of the Federal Republic of Germany. Since its founding in 1978, TUHH has pursued future-oriented approaches in research, teaching and technology transfer. TUHH is a campus university where everything is close together enabling fast access to facilities. It has a modern, well-equipped computer centre, an up-to-date library and a whole series of learning spaces which are only available to students. Part of the courses are project-based.

    TUHH Hamburg University of Technology is one of the universities that qualified in the BMWi “EXIST Culture of Entrepreneurship - Entrepreneur University” competition. It also runs the startup dock, which offers various means of support and assistance to students who are interested in setting up a company.
  • Characteristics of assistance to differently abled persons
    There is a professorial officer for disabled students; individual needs are dealt with on an individual basis together with the Student Counseling Center.
  • Characteristics of diversity advancement
    The TUHH has an equal opportunity and family office, which takes care of helping members to combine professional life/studying with a family. "CampusNest” offers flexible childcare on the TUHH campus.
  • Other special features
    New IIW students must complete a 10-week work placement, while new CS students are not required to do so. In CS, a compulsory software placement of 6 weeks (6 ECTS) is required, which can be coupled with the Bachelor’s thesis. There are a limited number of dual study places available for the IIW degree programme. The operational part is carried out in companies in the metropolitan region of Hamburg. In Computer Science in Hamburg, ‘ahoi.digital’ is currently creating a cross-university platform for cooperation.
