Special features regarding teachingTeaching is science and research-based and highly practice-relevant. The special features of teaching at this institution include the learning workshops where students can learn about topics on their own with guidance. As part of a "training ward" groups of students take responsibility for a hospital ward. And to teach communication skills, there are exercises with simulated patients (actors) which are then assessed. "Practical assignments" help students to apply what they have learned in practice. A big focus is on the teaching of research methods.
Special features regarding the international orientationIn relation to its size, the university places an above-average emphasis on an international focus. The Erasmus partnerships in the area of Nursing are currently being expanded in order to promote student mobility. Lecturers from partner universities regularly come to teach at the ehs. International guest lectures (ehs international lectures) take place at regular intervals. The lecturers of the ehs themselves are involved in international research groups. At the ehs itself, international students receive special support through an international group, study place quotas, etc.
