Further information provided by the department

  • Special features regarding teaching
A large part of the practice-relevant excursions/field exercises (B.Sc. & M.Sc.) take place in cooperation with institutes abroad. These contacts help students make a decision regarding a semester abroad and/or an internship and lead to final theses as part of international projects. Students can test their foreign language skills beforehand and, if necessary, attend language courses in the language centre of Uni Bonn. Many English-language modules (M.Sc.) make the course easier for foreign students.

  • Characteristics of assistance to differently abled persons
In consultation with students who have health impairments, individual programme adjustments are possible at any time. Alternatives to important, practice-relevant coursework on campus are offered to students who have health impairments. The University of Bonn also offers comprehensive advice and assistance through its portal for disabled students, "Studieren mit Handicap”.
  • Characteristics of diversity advancement
The Bonn degree programmes cover almost the entire scope of Geosciences in 13 chairs. Lecturers from abroad and those with international projects present the non-academic staff members and students with entirely new challenges. For the students, this diversity opens up many new opportunities to qualify for the future career market.
