    Many practical courses enable close contact with teaching staff. Especially on the Master's course, students have a major role to play in current research. Master's theses are often published in specialist international journals. Most of the lectures are combined with practical exercises and excursions, which help deepen the content of the lectures.

    The earth science institutes of the department have state-of-the-art laboratories. The institutes are very well equipped in the field of isotope geochemistry. Together, they operate a range of large-scale equipment, including multiple scanning and transmission electron microscopes, which are also used for teaching.
