Other special featuresThe Department of Biology currently hosts a DFG-funded Research Training Group (www.biomembranes.de/) and an SFB Transregio (www.trr130.forschung.uni-erlangen.de). The department cooperates closely with Medicine and the Physics and Mathematics departments. Master students can choose modules from medicine (immunology, virology, human genetics). In the winter semester of 2018, a new elite study programme ‘Integrated Immunology’ is expected to start, in which the faculties of biology and medicine are equally involved.
