Special features regarding the international orientationWithin the framework of the compulsory elective subjects in the third subject-related semester of the Master's degree course in Chemistry, students can complete a semester abroad as an alternative to the examination plan and curriculum. For this purpose, students first select a topic to focus on corresponding to the practical research assignment. The Akademische Auslandsamt (International Office) and our academic advisor and Erasmus officer can provide guidance and support to those interested in studying abroad. There are also numerous collaborations with working groups abroad in which students can also participate.
Support for foundersThe Technical Chemistry lecture looks at the breakdown of production costs based on examples. The role of patent protection and IP strategies is dealt with in various lectures. The Centre for Entrepreneurship and the Graduate Academy offer corresponding classes or courses, which students can also attend within the elective part of their programme.
Characteristics of assistance to differently abled personsThe University of Rostock provides extensive guidance for students with chronic conditions and disabled students (see:http://www.uni-rostock.de/studium/studienorganisation/studieren-mit-behinderung-und-chronischer-erkrankung/). Before commencing their studies, prospective students who have health problems are offered a guidance meeting in which the requirements for the degree course and the possible options are explained.
Characteristics of diversity advancementThe equal opportunities representative ensures that equality issues are taken into account when the university performs its duties, particularly when it comes to teaching and research, during development planning and during the allocation of funds. Ensuring quality in research, teaching and administration also means broadening your own horizons. Universität Rostock therefore promotes international activities in these areas. The exchange of students, academics and non-academic staff is encouraged through international partnerships with other universities.
