  • Special features regarding teaching
The department receives funding from the federal programme “Qualitätspakt Lehre" to improve teaching quality. International summer schools, the higher education training of student tutors, preparatory courses and the expansion of e-/blended learning are all funded. https://www.chemie.uni-wuerzburg.de/studium/qualitaet_in_studium_und_lehre/ ; Student teachers can gather experience early on in interaction with and teaching of pupils in teaching-learning labs; http://www.didaktik.chemie.uni-wuerzburg.de/lehrer/lehr_lern_labore/
  • Special features regarding the international orientation
The faculty offers, in cooperation with the CPE Lyon, a German-French double degree. https://www.chemie.uni-wuerzburg.de/studium/studiengaenge/chemie/deutsch_franzoesischer_doppelstudiengang/ ; Graduates of the Bachelor of Chemistry meet the entry requirements for the International Master Programme in Biofabrication. https://www.chemie.uni-wuerzburg.de/studium/studiengaenge/biofabrikation/ ; In particular, in the Master’s programme, a one- to two-semester stay abroad is possible. https://www.chemie.uni-wuerzburg.de/internationales/outgoing_students/
  • Characteristics of assistance to differently abled persons
The faculty works closely with the Kontakt- and Informationsstelle (KIS, point of contact and information office) for students with disabilities and chronic illnesses in order to provide the best possible individual support (https://www.chemie.uni-wuerzburg.de/services/chancengleichheit/
  • Characteristics of diversity advancement
The services offered at the beginning of the degree programmes, the preliminary course, “Erklär-HiWis” and tutorials, also help students who have no source of specific knowledge or experience in their private social context. This is designed to lessen disadvantages associated with social background. Foreign students who are not yet familiar with the German higher education system also benefit from these provisions. The chemistry lab has a fume cupboard that is suitable for wheelchair users.
