Further information provided by the department

  • Special features regarding teaching
The department’s geoinformatics considers itself as an applied computer science discipline. A special focus of the very practice-oriented degree courses is thus on teaching the design and development of (mobile and distributed) software systems for the solution of space-related issues. This is based on the teaching of the basics of surveying technology and the ability to understand space-related issues (e.g. in the area of sustainability) and to work on them using the latest geoinformatics technologies.
  • Common partner universities for exchange
University of Zagreb, Kroatien; Wroclaw University of Technology, Polen; Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, Spanien; Université de Bourgogne Dijon, Frankreich; University of Gävle, Schweden
  • Special features regarding the equipment
3 PC pools with 33 workstations; Geo-visualisation laboratory (8 workstations); Laser scanning laboratory.
  • Other special features
With the Bachelor of Engineering (and the Master of Engineering) in the course in Geoinformatics, our graduates have excellent career prospects. The demand exceeds the number of graduates to a large extent.
