  • Special features regarding teaching
    Computer science (information technology) provides the basis for applied computer science education in the offered branches of study. Practical training has a high priority here. With basics in programming, algorithms and data structures, database design and implementation up to classical software engineering, necessary basic competences for further specialisation are acquired. The acquired knowledge is implemented within the framework of project work and culminates in a Bachelor's thesis based on current requirements from industry.

  • Special features regarding the equipment
    For the basic training in Computer Science, there are a total of seven computer rooms, each with approx. 20 PC workstations, available at two locations. Moreover, training is offered in electronics laboratories (microcontroller programming, signal processing, among others) and in medical technology, medical informatics, network technology and geoinformation laboratories. The laboratories are always state-of-the-art. Additional labs at the 2 locations for multimedia engineering, audio and video engineering, geoinformation, augmented reality,IADL labs in the area of Active Assisted Living.

    Research fields: Energy/environment/mobility, innovation/materials/production, data science, society of the future - technical solutions; other research topics: Active Assisted Living, Augmented Reality, Environmental Monitoring, Sports Telematics, Computer-Aided Network Design and Optimisation

    "Start UP" support programme of the Business Engineering degree course for students and graduates of Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (personal coaching, start-up workshops and other start-up events) Other measures: Further education course in entrepreneurship; entrepreneurship special events for employees; concept of the start-up garages.
