Special features regarding teachingThe special features of sports economics and sports technology are interdisciplinarity (sports/business administration/law or sports/engineering), innovative capability and a distinct focus on networks. In sports economics, sports management is also taken into account. A work placement is compulsory, and it is often spent abroad. In sports technology, sports science issues are solves in a practice-oriented way and with technical expertise. In sports teacher training practical vocational classes are focused on (practice teaching of classes, project seminars, internship semester). Many students complete a semester abroad.
Special features regarding the international orientationSelective double degree programme with Ohio University (worldwide pioneer in sports management, since 1950s; Bayreuth: First European degree programme in sports economics, 1985); At least 80% of B.Sc. SpOec students complete a voluntary semester abroad; General recognition practices to promote internationalisation; Numerous English-language offers from visiting professors (block courses); Select own English-language courses in the Master; Options: Studying abroad (block credit of 19 ECTS) and internship abroad (14 ECTS) in the M.Sc. entry module; International certificates (see below)

Special features regarding the equipmentTriple games hall, sports hall, gymnastics hall, strength and fitness room, athletics facilities, four grass courts, six tennis courts, all-weather court, two beach volleyball fields, body-weight station are all available. Kinesiology and sports medicine labs (spiroergometry, BIA, blood volume measurement, biomechanical measurements, and 3D cinematography, Vicon system for teaching) can be used in classes and for final dissertations. In addition, there are business management and law databases as well as a laboratory for experiments.

Characteristics of assistance to differently abled personsThrough the addition of the counselling office for students with disabilities and chronic health problems (becks), the counselling and support services for students have been expanded comprehensively since 2015. It offers support with study problems and challenges, information on legal claims, reasonable adjustments and funding opportunities. becks is also committed to providing accessibility not only to buildings and premises but also of teaching content, raising awareness among teaching and administrative staff, reasonable adjustments, assistive devices/technology and personal assistance
Characteristics of diversity advancementCooperation with UBT facilities for diversity, internationalisation, equal opportunity, inclusion, families; target agreement for achieving gender equality; steps to increase the percentage of women, coaching and mentoring for female junior scientists; support of the UBT network Gender, Queer, Intersectionality and Diversity Studies; gender consulting for external funding applications; structural accessibility; Advancement fund for female junior scientists; increased appointments of women students for scientific assistant roles.
