Special features regarding teachingThe sports institute of the HU is very well connected within Europe and internationally. This applies both to research (many partnerships offer opportunities for cooperation for students through internships, student assistant positions or final dissertations) and to studying and teaching. Many bilateral agreements with European partner institutes form the basis for study visits in Europe – as part of the Erasmus exchange programme. An increasing number of classes are taught in English or are bilingual.

Support for foundersThe start-up service of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (HU) supports students, scientists and academics, and HU alumni to realise their business ideas. As the central point of contact at the university for those interested in setting up a business, it supports the development of business ideas and identifies opportunities for putting them into practice. Help is provided among other things with writing a business model and business plan, finding co-founders and applying for and raising funds.
Characteristics of assistance to differently abled personsHumboldt-Universität zu Berlin has put extensive conditions, services and initiatives in place to ensure equal opportunity. Reasonable adjustments are also available: Anyone who, on account of disability or chronic conditions, is unable to e.g. produce coursework or take an examination on the intended date or deadline, within an intended period, in the intended place, form or manner, is granted adjustments to compensate for these disadvantages.
Other special featuresThere is a wide range of courses for university sports at the Humboldt University in Berlin. Students can also participate in the sports options provided by other Berlin-based universities. Among other things, the sports institute works closely with the Berlin Institute for Integration and Migration Research, the Julius Wolff Institute of the Charité Berlin and the Olympic Training Centre Berlin.
