Special features regarding teachingA wide range of teaching and learning forms are used in all degree courses: For imparting basic knowledge a combination of lecture/seminar. Seminar parts are deepened by lecture contents (e.g. by simulation tasks, practical exercises). Conducting exercises/teaching/learning situations). Likewise, project/problem-based forms of teaching/learning; blended/e-learning are used. Cooperations with rehabilitation clinics make it possible in the M.Sc. KSS practical-oriented seminars with patient contact in clinic premises with participation of clinic staff.

Special features regarding the equipmentThe institute has its own swimming pool, a games, sports and gymnastics hall and extensive outdoor facilities (track and field athletics, beach and tennis facilities, artificial pitch). All sports facilities are located in the immediate vicinity of the classrooms in our own connected campus. In the multi-functional building there is a motor laboratory and a power room, in the main building there is a campus lecture hall and a PC room with 25 workstations. Furthermore, there is a performance physiology laboratory and a biomedical laboratory unit with molecular analysis and cell culture.

Sport facilitiesThe Justus Liebig University is a partner university of the ADH (Allgemeiner Deutscher Hochschulsportverband).

Special features regarding research activitiesResearch topics cover the spectrum from competitive sports to school/teaching-related and health-related topics, using a variety of research methods that are tested in the course of training. One focus is the cognitive, bio- and neuroscientific orientation with a natural science experimental research approach. Significant involvement in two major projects with psychology. Research projects in cooperation with associations (e.g. DLV), institutions (e.g. Olympiastützpunkt Westfalen) and clinics (e.g. UKGM).

Support for foundersThe MSc Clinical Sports Physiology and Sports Therapy, the module "Entrepreneurship" teaches, among other things, the basics and processes of setting up a business, the structure and content of business plans.
