  • Special features regarding teaching
Teaching in the subject of sport is both research- and application-oriented in order to prepare students for corresponding professional fields. Numerous additional qualifications, e.g. trainer licenses, can be acquired during the course of study. The range of sports offered is broad and, due to the geographical location of the university, focuses on nature sports. The number of first-year students is limited so that courses can be held in small groups. The students are supported and personally and individually. The degree course is evaluated regularly.
  • Exchange universities for stay abroads
Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spanien, Universidad de Cadíz, Spanien, Université de la Réunion (Saint Denis), University College Cork, Irland; Universitetet i Agder, Norwegen; Univerza v Ljubljani, Slowenien; Avignon Université, Frankreich
  • Special features regarding the equipment
Sports Science runs the "Human Performance Research Centre" and has several research laboratories as well as various outdoor facilities (tennis, athletics, water sports, beach volleyball, climbing, high ropes course, low ropes course, half pipe), a triple gymnasium and a dance studio that can also be used for martial arts. The facilities correspond with international standards. In addition, Sports Science offers training opportunities in the university's weight room and gym in cooperation with the university sports department.
  • Sport facilities
The University of Konstanz is a partner university of elite sports; athletes studying sports or sports science can coordinate examination dates with their training period; individual solutions are provided for in the degree course. Athletic training can be done in the university's own gym if needed. The sports hall and the dance studio can be used for own training sessions. Due to its location on Lake Constance and its proximity to the Alps, the University of Constance offers excellent opportunities for water and mountain sports.
  • Special features regarding research activities
Sport science deals with the research focus "movement, performance and health" from a social, behavioural and natural science perspective. In addition to focal points in sports psychology, sports motor skills and training science, the focus is on an interdisciplinary approach that links the individual working groups. Current research projects deal with environment-related activity behaviour, motivation and volition of sports participation and the development of training measures to improve physical performance.
  • Support for founders
