Special features regarding teachingThe sports science teaching staff regularly meet up with students to discuss any open questions and problems. In addition to the study advice office, there is a teaching committee that coordinates and evaluates the courses. Teaching is both research and application-oriented to prepare students for the different vocational fields.

Special features regarding the international orientationThe degree programme in Sport Science is internationally oriented and is taught in English. In each intake for the winter semester, applications from abroad are considered.

Special features regarding the equipmentSports Science has several research labs and outdoor facilities (tennis, track and field athletics, water sports, beach volleyball, climbing, high rope assault course, low ropes course, half-pipe), a triple sports hall and a dance studio which can also be used for martial arts. The facilities correspond with international standards. In addition, through its partnership with university sports, sports science offers training options in the university’s own fitness studio.

Characteristics of assistance to differently abled personsthe university has a female member of staff who is specifically responsible for students with health impairments. Several students have also been granted reasonable adjustments in sport.
Characteristics of diversity advancementThere is a general tutoring and mentoring system at the University of Konstanz for international students and for students with physical impairments; separate contact person for students with test anxiety, writer’s block and other psychological disorders; support for students with children (student parent pass); flexible working hours for parents and carers.
